i feel like i haven’t been posting my own stuff in a while so here’s something

this was a sketch for a t-shirt design (from a month and a half ago? wow) that had already gone through a few iterations/changes and just ended up not working out for various reasons. haven’t had the heart to clean up this sketch though.

i still like what came out and i did end up pushing myself more, so at least i can chalk it up as learning experience. maybe someday i’ll return to it and make it a polished portfolio piece or something.

I recently joined a new club on campus called Comic and Manga Ink that brings together writers, artists, and all-around comic-lovers to talk about, well, comics! We’re having a mascot design contest and I just submitted mine.

The design’s a combo of both western comics and japanese manga characteristics and is just overall cute :3 He’s also got a dip pen, which is really the tool of the trade for comics. The logo is my design as well, but that’s an extra thing I did to fit the overall style.
