I found an old xd card the other day with photos from high school. While most of the photos were bad selfies, there was this one of one of my art projects. Yes, it was one of those assignments: this one in particular was about ‘expressive line.’ I want to say I was going for an abstracted garden look. I also want to say this won some award in the school district art show my teacher entered me in. Like, third place or something in some specific category? I never went to the ceremony so who knows.
Honestly, i’m half-cringing and half-marveling at this. It’s not the ‘prettiest’, work I’ve done, but there are some good moments in this. Some parts I’d like to revisit in new pieces. There’s a lot going on in here, and not all of it is bad.
Regardless, I think I’ve come a long way from that exploratory art class in my freshman year of high school.

aw frick today was hourly comics day and all i did was sleep
can i do it tomorrow? i’ll be more exciting tomorrow.

In case you’re in need of motivation, have some from the Doctor.
You can do it!
This one goes out to our interns.
felt really stressed to the point of throwing up today. tried to calm myself down by starting a sketch but too sleepy to finish.
I really need/want to take that figure drawing class next quarter (though that has nothing to do with what is stressing me out)
My take on a Harry Potter Party for my sister’s birthday party. Each room in the house was a different area of Harry Potter’s world. We did The Three Broomsticks (with Butterbeer), Honeydukes, a floo powder fireplace, Flourish & Blotts, Ravenclaw common room, and Great Hall outside dining area with ‘floating’ candles. Also had a platform 9 3/4 sign and a fabric ‘wall’ curtain for guests to ‘run’ through.
So my sister is sort of like tHE BEST PERSON EVER. OH MY GOD.
Seriously and very ecstatically surprised. My boyfriend was the sweetest to plan this surprise party for me and kept me in the dark about this for a good couple weeks until I came home yesterday evening to THIS MAGICAL PLACE.
So thank you thank you THANK YOU to my wonderful friends and family who came and helped out and shout-out to my sister who did like most of the decorations?? like DANG. Also to anyone else that helped set up ‘cause aaaaaaah you’re making my childhood dreams come true
Book pain syndrome, anyone? ;-) http://ebks.to/12cjC7i
bleh ok seriously not cool of sites like themetapicture (or anyone for that matter) to steal images and add their ugly watermarks to claim it as their own. also 3 times??? was that really necessary???
apparently if you click the tumblr link from someone’s page while not logged in, it uses one of their recent photo posts as the background. completely threw me off for a second.
